For this article’s purpose, however, we’ll assume that you have a two bedroom, one-bathroom, two-bath house with an attached garage.
We’ll then discuss some common building mistakes that can lead to expensive, poorly constructed homes.
Building the basics of your house Designing a home The first step to building a house requires a foundation.
The most common foundation for a two and three-bedroom house is a two to three-foot thick slab of concrete.
When building a three or four-bedroom home, you can buy a two foot by two foot slab of cement, or you can build a more complex two- to three foot slab for the same price.
The concrete slab must be of sufficient thickness to withstand the weight of the house, which is usually around 1,000 to 1,500 pounds per square foot.
It should be of adequate thickness and be resistant to the elements, such as rain and flooding.
For example, the slab should be at least six feet by six feet, which means it should be capable of resisting a 2,000 pound drop from a 10,000-pound truck.
The house should be insulated to keep it from freezing in winter.
It’s also a good idea to use an insulated roof, which can be done in a number of different ways, including using insulation panels or a waterproof one.
In a two floor house, the same rule applies.
For a one and a half to two-bedroom, you could use the same slab of foundation, but the building materials are usually different.
For one- and two- and three and four-story houses, there are also many different types of building materials that can be used.
